We're not on earth as culmination of an evolutionary process, but because God has willed it so. Nowhere does the Bible gives us the reasons which have induced God to create man: solitude? creative fun? the desire to have people like him? the need for creatures that might like? Nobody knows. Genesis 1:26-27 tells us the divine intention that led to the creation of man: "God finally said, Let us make human beings: they are like us really! ... God created humans in his own likeness, he created them man and wife. "We conclude that we are here because God has expressly decided. We desired beings and not "cosmic noise" (F. Nietzsche) or "vagrants at the edge of the universe" (J. Monod) or an evolved form of some animal. No, we are creatures of God desired. The Bible says that we are creatures loved from all eternity: "I love you always, so I will remain deeply committed" (Jer 31:3); "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life "(Jn 3:16). This verse also proves that we are destined to eternal life.
